Cinque Terre, Italy? Getting there and getting around.?

I have heard that this is a beautiful region in Italy. I was wondering how accessible it is by Eurail train as well as how easy it is to find cheap accomodations. Any other informaiton would be greatly appreciated!!

I would suggest 3-4 days here. You must do the hike between the towns which can take up to 5 hours. It's breathtaking! It's a nice break in the middle of your vacation, a vacation within the vacation. Relax, spend time on the beach, wander through each of the towns. You take the train in between towns. Very easy. My hubby & I love CT. I've been there twice already and plan to go back again the next time we are in Italy. Message me if you want more info....Ciao

who knows
Cinque terre is beautiful. It is easy to access by train.

Accomodations are a little more difficult.

The area is not much of a tourist destination. More of a day trip to a fishing village kind of trip. Thats what makes it attractive.
I think you can see the villages fairly well in two days.
There is a train between the villages.

It is absolutely breathtaking and you definitely have to see it. I would stay in La Spezia since the accomodation there is a bit cheaper then in the park itself, and there is also a good rail system that can take you to all of the five towns fairly quickly. You would need at least one whole day to explore it, so that you can walk between all five of the towns, and still have time to relax.

cinque terre is near la spezia in liguria. I'd imagine you can get there by catching a train from either la spezia or genova.
