Compulsion to go to Italy...?

hi, yeah, well

last summer i felt the sudden urge to get up and leave adn go to Italy, i odnt know where in Italy, i just needed to go, like it was an obligation.

But i couldnt just get up and leave, so i stayed when i live now.

Everyday that i couldnt go, this compulsion that i wanted, needed, obligated, must go feeling kept getting stronger. But i didnt go

I talked to my mother about it and she said that she had the same compulsion feeling 17 years ago, but she had money, and so she flew over to the Middle East, where she got married and had me and so on and so forth.

Could the same thing be happening to me? Why? What is making me go there??

any little suggestion is much appreciated, oh, and i've always been obsessed with going to italy since i was small.

Thanks

I've lived in Italy for the past 9 years and would highly recommend that you do act on your urge. Italy is a wonderful place to visit and an even better place to live. Given your mother's experience, who knows what might be driving the urge? I don't think this is an uncommon feeling, but the urges don't always persist in everybody. If you don't act, you'll always wonder what if?

your user name pretty much explains this "urge"

it's a great place to visit. Just save up and go.

Well, maybe you have the innate or intuitive feeling that the Italians will take care of you, or have an obligation to take care of you, possibly better than the North Americans will look after you. I am adding the part about the obligation since you mentioned the word yourself.

How can you speak of your urge as a spontaneous feeling and at the same time refer to it as an obligation. It seems to be a contradiction in terms. Hopefully everything will work out for the best and you will be well looked after by all parties, including yourself. I think you should learn to look after yourself as much as you can in case someone else lets you down, including the Italians.

I do not advise that you travel alone because it can be dangerous.

Ciao!

We are going to Italy (Venice area) this Mon. Dec. 22nd for 2 weeks. I will think of you when we are there. I think Italy is so interesting. We will be going to Venice, Vincenza, Florence, etc. I think you should just do it! You'll love it.

There's a place in Italy that has been in my dreams for a long time. I haven't found it yet so I keep looking. My parents had no such vision.

I think it's the power of suggestion in your case, but I wouldn't use that as an excuse not to act on it.
