For a buzzing nightclub scene, especially on the weekends, check out the Testaccio area. A bit off the tourist track, but worth the visit. There are a number clubs/bars on Via Monte Testaccio, usually with lines late in the evening. To eat - try Pizzeria Remo - great thin crust pizza and good suppli and try to snag a table outside.

Also, check out Trastevere for bars/restaurants. On summer weekend nights, the neighborhood is buzzing with people. A lot of streets around Trastevere are pedestrian only, which is nice. There are so many restaurants/bars there, just walk around and go in one that suits your tastes. |

Are you talking about locals or other tourists? If you are looking for other tourists, I would suggest a pub crawl.
There are usually advertisements at the internet cafe near Barberini or at the coloseo stop. Generally, your best bet to meet people is at campo or Navona. Personally, I prefer trastevere and testaccio. But, it is your own choice, I know people that would rather stay on the via veneto all night. |

I hung out in the Piazza Navona at night and it was fun. There are a number of clubs, bars and restaurants. Plus its beautiful and locals hang out there. |

I'm not sure about clubs and stuff, but you HAVE to (meaning I highly recommend) eat at Pizzeria Baffetto in Piazza Navona (kinda near the Pantheon)! Best Pizza in the world I'm convinced. I went there in 2000 and it was so good! I went back in 2004 and thought, there's no way it can be as good as I remembered it being - but it was, even better! My wife and I were there for 2 nights and had dinner there both nights - it's that good. There can be a line if you go late, but it moves quick and is really worth the wait.
There's a place near by called Culdesac and that was great too for dessert and drinks. They have 100s maybe even 1000s of bottles of wine and a great wine menu. Have fun, it's a great place!
Found this on a google search just now:
Pizzeria Da Baffetto
(Restaurants - Pizza)
Via del Governo Vecchio 11
Rome IT
06-68-61-617
Description: The best buy for your lire, and the pizza could feed a family. Pizzeria da Baffetto is a Roman favorite. You will have to wait in line if you arrive late, but the atmosphere, pizza, and wine are worth it. Baffetto's only bad point is that the owners close two weeks in August for holiday. Take the bus to Corso Vittorio.
Hours: Daily 6:30pm-1am |

Anywhere!!! Try just taking a walk in downtown area (Spanish Steps), you'll see plenty of activity!! |

Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona are for tourists.
The real fun is in Trastevere or the Piramide sections of the city. Just be careful though - both of those sections can be rough at night time!
Ciao. |
