No, and we don't call our fellow Italianos fat. And the ones you showed are nationality wise American. Why would it matter, I don't get what you mean by pass considering that we have people from every country living here, but you look like a northern Italian to me. |

Italy is a wonderful place. Why do you want to "pass". There are people from all over the world that live there. I think it is better to be true to who you are. You won't stand out if that is what you mean. Many Italians have dark hair, but many have brown or blonde hair. The farther north you go, the lighter the skin and hair. It is awesome place. I am full blooded Italian, but American born. I visited 2 times last year and hope to go again this year. One thing to do is to learn the language. There is a great class on CD make by Rosetta Stone. I bought the series and learned very quickly. Ciao and buona fortuna.
P.S. Don't let Harry bug you...good luck with your diet, but seriously, there are all different body types there...a little chunky and skinny! Be yourself! |

Sorry, I don't want to destroy your dreams but Italy is anything BUT a fair place! Maybe you should study better the recent political, sociological, economical circumstances of Italy and you will change idea, surely... |

I guess you could pass for Italian if you dye your hair a darker color or something. : ) |

I live here in Italy and have traveled all over this beautiful country and people look different just like anywhere else. When I look at you, I didn't see Italian. I do see Portuguese, though. |

I am sorry that some answers have been rude. I was born in Slovenia (live in America now) and travel to Italy often. Don't change anything about yourself...even if you do look foreign who cares? There are people that will have problems with foreigners but they are a minority. My best friend is from Naples and he loves me to death. If you want to fit in more learn the language and dress like an Italian. As far as Physical appearance it doesn't matter.
Good luck with your diet |

You could pass, but I don't see the reason why: you would always be a fake Italian and a real Argentino/Portugese. Why deny your beautiful origins? If it's racism you are worrying about, I'm not going to lie. There are people here who would treat you differently because you are a foreigner. But they would be able to tell the difference between you and a real Italian even if you try to pass as one. And they'd be even more rude to you...... However, for every one of them, there will be an Italian who would like you even more because you are a foreigner, and therefore, more interesting to know! |
