Beautiful place for a holiday. We stayed at a hotel just outside the old town so it was only a couple of mins. walk to the shops etc. They have the most fantastic leather shops and also some really nice parks. The main bus station is really handy and you can get to anywhere from there. There are also loads of boat trips you can go on which is really good. Its a small place so wherever you stay you are not far from anywhere! |

I've stayed at a small hotel in Sirmione at Lago di Garda. Its a cool place to visit for a day, but if you're looking for a quiet area you should stay elsewhere on the lake. Sirmione has a cool, really old castle and a bunch of good restaurants and a lively atmosphere, but its very touristy and always crowded. There are also some ruins out on the point of Sirmione that you should check out.
Sorry I cant recommend any hotels or resorts becuase when I was there we were on a very tight budget and stayed at the cheapest place possible. |

The hotels are fantastic but last summer my wife and 3 month old went to Keycamp during the world cup. Good value and location and so many things to do and see around the lake and loads of cities nearby like Verona. Trains are cheap (charge by the KM) but to be totally free and flexible hire a car.
When driving anywhere in Italy you should always be wary of cars with a Venice numberplate!!! (work it out) |
