Do Italians celebrate Halloween the same way Americans do?

i'm italian and we celebrate halloween in Italy
but it isn't already a very popular feast

yes, we celebrate the New Year with fireworks, and we don't celebrate Halloween like Americans. But lately we begin to celebrate this holiday because we like it so much.

As an American living in Italy I can say that they do have fireworks all the time. Seems like fireworks are for every holiday and celebration here. They also do celebrate Halloween but not like the Americans. They don't go trick or treating. I do live near a military base though and on Halloween they let the italians into the housing area to go trick or treating if they would like.

Yeah, abc is wrong. i live in italy, and people mostly have parties, (this is the younger crowd of course, i don't know about adults), and little kids trick or treat, but not in the same sense of going house to house because everyone lives in appartments. In italy in the sunmmer there are fireworks every weekend (at least in the south) because they have so many saints to celebrate, and they are less expensive you don't need as many permits to set off a fireworks display. The italians have at least 4 different independance days because they have a long history. Labour day is in may, and at christmas santaclaus ( babbo natale) doesn't put gifts in the stockings; La bayfana does that job on the 5th or 6th of january. Also in towns you get a day of on the day of your town's patron saint.

In italy Holloween is celebrated in February and It is called Carnivale. The children dress up and usually in the towns they have a little parade for all the children. the kids also get treats. italy has many holidays that we in the US don't. and in the months from June-September every weekend there are feasts in cities and towns throughout Italy celebrating various Saints.

No Halloween is not celebrated in Italy. Italy is a devoutly Catholic country and Halloween is a pagan festival. Halloween is mostly an American thing, but is also celebrated to a much smaller extent in the UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand - largely due to American media influence.

Italy probably celebrates the New Year with fireworks.
