Ive just returned from a work trip to verona and i was gobsmacked at the history and suroundings of this beautiful place. It has it all and all you would want if you fancied a romantic break with your partner. I would think paris or rome would be a lot of walking but verona has it all in such a smaller area. Check out the tourist info web site and if your interested here is where i stayed just 2 buildings down from romeo and julietes balcony www.anticaportaleona.com its not expensive. i hope you like it. |

Absolutely. I haven't been to Italy personally but I've seen pictures and it's gorgeous. Be sure to check out the art museums and historical sites, and to go out for fine dining.
Other major Italian cities like Venice, Florence, Pisa, and Milan, and the enclaves (Vatican City & San Marino) are within easy reach because cities are so close to each other and public transport is well organised. In Europe it is not uncommon to spend one weekend in 3-4 countries, so going around in Italy should be a piece of cake. Have plenty of time (at least one week) to make the most of your stay. |
