i wasn't born in the states but now i am a U.S. citizen. I checked on the italian embassy website and in it it said if the nationality is U.S. and live int the US. i do not need a visa but if my nationality is not U.S and if i still live in the U.S. i need a visa. i tried to call them but they won't pick up
If you're a US citizen and hold a US passport, then you don't need a visa for a tourist visit for a visit of 90 days or less. The information regarding nationality and residence on the Italian visa website http://www.esteri.it/visti/index_eng.asp applies to people who are citizens of and hold passports from one country, but live in another.
Dudeman
u dont need a visa if you hold a passport and you should hold a passport if you r a legal US citizen.. have you ever traveled out of the country before, use what you used before
zafir
Depends on your passport. If you're travelling on a US passport, then you do not need a visa - you will have automatic entry to Italy for up to 90 days.

How long are you planning on staying in Italy for? You can come to Italy using a passport! You HAVE to get a passport to leave the country. I had to have a Visa cause I am living here, and they didnt even look at that when I flew into Italy! All I would recommend is that you get a passport!
