Yes they use Euros, but don't change all your money. Put some into a Visa card. sometimes the exchange rate is better when you use the Visa plus, of course, if it gets nicked its no use without the PIN.

Yes they use Euro in Sardinia and no they do not have sockets like they have in the US. You'll need to bring a socket adapter for your US appliances.
