Do you feel like being Italian gives you a sense of pride?

I know it does to me. I am sooo proud of where my great great great grandparent's came from.
Unfortunately, I got my mom's surname, Alley instead of Viscosi. What a bummer. :(

Yeah, I'm only half Italian but I have a very Italian name and I feel more Italian than Swedish (my other half).

People find it interesting that you're from another culture, it gives you something to talk about and it's great to be able to speak more than one language!

Well, it used to, but our Country's getting worse day by day, and I fell more and more disappointed :(
Anyway, thanks for being so proud!

I'm italian and I'm not proud of being italian.
Of course my country is rich of history,an example is given by the capitol Rome(where I was born and where I live),the famous caput mundi in Latin. It's full or beautiful cities like florence, venice, siena, pisa, but living here is very hard.
The great majority of the italians is friendly, but our politicians, for example, are totally useless.
A practical example is given by our first minister.....and I don't want to say his name because I get ashemed of him.
The unemployment rate is very high,so you have to be proud of being american, british etc etc.

Being Italian completely gives me a sense of pride. Being able to speak Italian gives me even more pride. I have only been there twice but once was for a study abroad trip and I truly felt as though I was a part of the culture. Everything is so rich there. I absolutely love the country and my heritage!!
