Beautiful automobile free pedestrian streets with great shops. There's a great jazz club on the river, I can't remember the name, but it's decorated like a harem.

Stone! I was treated to a wonderful week in your city when I was president of the architects' professional organization in Los Angeles, and I was able to attend the stone/marble exposition, and then be a sightseer. We enjoyed WONDERFUL food (the 12 Apostles), saw the sights like the arena, I bought scarves from a street vendor that I wear still. It brought the story of Romeo and Juliet to life for us, and my husband took many long walks while I was in technical meetings.

WE LOVED YOUR BEAUTIFUL CITY!

I visited there in 2004 and have VERY fond memories of it.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and on my Italian trip I had my best weather in Verona. I loved the "colloseum" and would love to hear opera there one day.

I did visit "Juliette's ( so called) balcony" but I loved the other things about it more....the actual setting of the city was lovely and I visited a cool gardens...which I have forgotton, but not for walking off my map and spent an HOUR on quite a warm day getting back onto it!!!

I recommend it!

I went to Italy and didn't see Verona. Of course, Romeo and Juliet pop into my head when I think of it.

As an American, the first thing I think of is Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet...

I visited Verona for a day two winters ago. It was very, very beautiful. We went to Juliette's balcony and I thought the writing on the archway was very romantic.
