It depends on whether you are going to other places too. Milan is a very nice city, and I had a great time visiting there, but you could not compare it to visiting Rome, or Venice or Florence. It is a big city. If you are into fashion and couture, there is no place better to visit in all of Italy. There are important museums and churches. Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper is there. The most intriguing site I saw was the Duomo, a huge cathedral built in 1386. It is made of carved marble and some say it resembles a wedding cake. Also there is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Teatro all Scala, the most important opera house, many museums and great food. I can recommend Il Carpaccio with all my heart - the best dinner I ever had. In addition, a short train ride away you can reach Lake Como and Varenna, two very famous and wonderful towns. If you are interested there is a great book put out by DK Eyewitness Travel, called Milan and the Lakes. It gives you the history of Milan, and if you go, I think things are always more interesting if you know the history. Ciao... |

well, i live in rome and i've been so many times in milan. it's not a beautifil city. the only one thing that's good is the "cathedral dome".
the centre of the town is that. there's "monte napoleone" way that's good for shopping. but there's only this in milan. the best cities you can visit in italy are: rome, venice, florence, naples and if you like hot weather and you wanna visit the south of italy you can go to sardinia that's a good island. really quite but even really noisy. the city i'd advise for you it's alghero it's a small town but it's beautiful in its centre.
i hope this helps you.
bye.
Xoxo.
i'm sorry for possible grammaticals errors. i'm not american i'm italian and i'm trying to learn english. |
