Prices vary a lot on hotels here in Italy depending on exactly when you're here. The hotel I stayed in for Carnevale was 150 euro per night the first weekend, 400 euro per night the 2nd weekend, and 80 euro the weekend after Carnevale ended.

Try this site: http://en.venere.com/hotels_florence/ You can sort by price on the dates you plan to be here. Right now there are about 18 hotels with rooms in your price range, but they'll mostly be one or two star places fairly far from the old town.

You might also check hostels: http://www.hostelitaly.com/ , http://www.hostelbookers.com/hostels/italy/ , http://www.hostels.com/it.html

im not sure how much the hotel is but im sure its farely cheap i was there about 2 weeks ago its very comfortable they have big room sizes up to four people, its called hotel arno named after the arno river, it lays infront of the river slightly. if you want a nice room, if you stay there i suggest the room my the stair cases its room 30 something when you walk in the hotel you look to your left and directly in front of you at the end is the stair case to the breakfast area and to the left of the stairs is the room it is a great room the door to the bathroom is a little rusty but the room size is great! have fun in firenze!

try www.craigslist.org - sometimes you can find cheap apartments for a couple of days, and that's always nice. try searching for b&b's which usually give a better price than hotels (although italian breakfasts aren't much to talk about...). i always have luck on hotelclub.com. good luck!

It really depends from the period of your stay, however on this website there are a lot of cheap accommodations:http://en.reserver.it/

Assuming you know you aren't going to get a bath or air conditioning...

With tax the Hotel Duilio is 60 euros / night. 5 euros more for your own bath. 10 euros more for air.

The Hotel Bavaria is 51 euros.

And the Hotel Cellini is exactly 50 euros prepaid/not refundable.
