I don't live in Taormina but I know it very well. It's a lovely town but rent is really, really expensive. The the shops aren't great for provisions. You would need a car to get to a decent supermarket or furniture shop or even shops that sell bedding and towels etc. It's lovely all year round although it can get extremely hot in the summer. You'd probably be better living down the hill in Giardini Naxos or Letojanni where you can escape to the beach easily. The small section of beach directly below Taormina gets very busy in summer.

It's very charming and would be a lovely place to live but not possibly the most practical. Why are yo thinking of living there? I could maybe suggest somewhere else.

I am Italian but I don't live in Taormina! I know that is a very beautiful city but it's very hot!
There are a lot of confectioner's that sell typical Sicilian sweet! They are very nice!

I've just spent a week of holidays in Sicilia. We spent a day in Isola Bella, a beach in Taormina. It's probably one of the most pretty beaches of the island.
