If you like to be REALLY central and have privacy (B&B you have a room in a sharing apartment) look at this studio flat near the spanish steps:

We stayed in Rome at the Donatello Hotel.
We went there through www.myvacation.co.uk.
I wrote a review on the hotel on www.tripadvisor.co.uk. if your interested. My name there for the review is 'bestdriver'.
We would go to that hotel again.

Hi, I live in Rome and there are a lot of B&Bs here. From the cheap ones to the expensive and luxury ones. To me the best area for a tourist is near the Colosseum and near Termini central station, indeed from here you can reach all the most important monuments of the city. Another nice area is Trastevere where there are many pubs and clubs. Try to look at this website, there are really many B&Bs : http://en.reserver.it/

The B&B ACQUEDOTTI ANTICHI is close to the line A subway station “Subaugusta”: in 20 minutes you will be in the inner city of Rome. Opened in March 2008, this B&B offers elegant, quiet and inexpensive rooms, furnished with simple elegance, all with private bathroom, satellite tv (Sky Network), free Internet connection (wi-fi or plug) and air conditioning; free private parking place is at disposal and just around the corner, you will find the beautiful Parco degli Acquedotti.
Our location makes very easy to join the most attractive historical and cultural sites, as well as shopping centres.
We put particular care in satisfying our guest’s expectations, especially concerning reliability, courtesy and willingness to intercultural exchange.
This B&B is well-recommended if you like simple, relaxing, warm and homely atmosphere.

No, but you might find this website helpful: www.hostelworld.com. Don't let the name fool you, they do all kinds of accommodation.

Another thing, be sure to read the various reviews from various customers.
