Does anyone know how far the Ciampino airport is from the heart of Rome?

What is the best means of transportation to and from the airport?

There is no train from Ciampino Airport to Termini Station. I think the other poster is confusing the train that operates between Fiumicino and Termini.

Terravision offers a non-stop shuttle service between Ciampino and Termini station. Cost is only 8 euro per person. The times of departure are tied to flights. Most airlines work with Terravision but check out their web page to make sure your airline does. You have to show your air boarding pass when you get on the bus!

You can also take the Cotral Bus from Ciampino to the Anagnina Metro Stop and then hop on the metro to Termini. It's cheaper than Terravision but it the metro can be a pain with lots of luggage.

Best way to reach Roma is the dedicated bus Terravision 6 euro or the Artal 5 euro. They both reach the railways station Termini.

If you prefer to use ordinary means take a local bus to the Ciampino station and from there a train to Roma.

I think its really close, we went there last summer and it was like a 10 minute train ride from the airport to the main train station in Rome.

The train goes right into the airport and i dont think its very expensive (but my dad paid for it so i dont know for sure how much it is)

its about 20-30 minutes from Rome. You can get there by train easily. They have trains that go there from Termini (the main train station hub)
