Early transportation from Venice hotel to airport?

I am visiting Venice and staying near the Rialto Bridge. My flight back home is at 6:30am. Are there taxis that can take me to the airport or do I need to take a vaporetto? Do vaporettos even run as early as 3:30am (when I should leave for the international flight)?

Will I need to go to the train station and take the train to the airport? I will be exhausted so I am OK with paying more for the quickest way to get to the airport.

Thanks!

The earliest bus (#35) leaves Piazzale Roma about 5:00 and arrives at the airport at about 5:20. As indicated at the bottom of the schedules page it leaves from the D2 stop: http://www.atvo.it/orari/pdf_airport/mpolovenezia.pdf

Your best bet is a taxi from Piazzale Roma to the airport. It takes about 20 minutes like the bus.

There is an Alilaguna boat on the Blu line that leaves from the San Marco stop at 3:40 am and arrives at the airport at approximately 5 am. The schedule is here: http://www.alilaguna.it/?funzione=120&idstazione0=2&idstazione1=5&fascia=5&x=22&y=15 The boats from the Rialto stop to the airport don't run that early.

Personally, I would go with the taxi from Piazzale Roma.

A water taxi from Rialto will cost you about 60 euro.... and you'll get to the air port in about 20 minutes. It's the best way not to lug heavy bags to the vaporetto and around Piazzale Roma... There is only one problem and that is when you get to Marco Polo = There is a long walk from where the taxi drops you off to the departures. There is a service that will take your bags to the check in though and this is fine except that it costs about 5 euro per bag. It might all be worth it if you are saving your energies. Ask your hotel to reserve the taxi for you (and have them ask for the cost).

PS - you aren't stying at a hotel the just drop by one of the taxi stands next to the Vaporetto stop at Rialto during the and reserve a water cab yourself.

Some good answers above, but your situation is REALLY problematic! The Venice airport (Marco Polo) is really worlds away from the Rialto Bridge at this hour of the morning! (It's actually in Tessera.)
1) It will take you at least 1/2 hour to walk from the Rialto Bridge to Piazzale Roma (with luggage no less!) I don't know if you have been to Venezia before, but it is almost impossible NOT to get lost--this is one of venice's great charms, but not in the dark at 3 in the morning with an international plane ticket on the line!
2) There aren't regular vaporetti/buses at this hour
3) There is no train station at the Venice airport (there are buses that go between the Venice train station (well, actually Piazzale Roma) and the airport, however they don't start until 5AM)
I'd seriously consider staying overnight in a hotel close to the airport! (REALLY!)

Some airport hotels:

If not, here's a shuttle service option:
http://www.veniceshuttle.it/lang1/index.html

Or a "taxi boat" service:
http://www.motoscafivenezia.it/

(Know that appointments in Italia don't always come through as scheduled as Paolo's son may have a bloody nose or Silvie's mother's Fiat might not start in order for her to get to the shuttle in time...)

The Marco Polo website:
http://www.veniceairport.it/core/index.jsp;jsessionid=EYAXCV0T40HBRQFIAIBCFFA?_requestid=232736&language=en

Some good advice about leaving Venezia so early in the morning:
http://europeforvisitors.com/venice/articles/early-flights-from-venice-airport.htm

p.s. Marco Polo doesn't open 'til 0430, so no need getting there much before that--people DO start hovering around the front doors at around 0415 though....

Good luck! E bocca del lupo!
