The flooding is in the northwest part of the country. We've had a lot of rain in the past couple of weeks, but the areas you're talking about visiting aren't flooded. In my area, the rain wasn't continuous, it just happened every day. I flew from Bologna to Amsterdam yesterday morning. the eastern Po Valley was very green, but not flooded.

There have been big storms on the North-western part of Italy recently but now it seems weather is good.

It seems it's very hot now so hopefully you will enjoy your visits to Florence, Venice and Sorrento (and don't worry, there wouldn't be any "high water" in Venice during this season).
