For our honeymoon....where do you recommend?

There are several packages that we can purchase at a discounted rate. Out of these locations, which would you recommend/prefer?
Rome, Florence, Venice, Sorrento

Here's the hotels in each city that we would be staying:

Rome - Hotel Milani
Florence - Hotel Byron, Hotel Basilea, or Hotel Pendini
Venice - Hotel Da Bruno
Sorrento - Hotel Gardenia or Hotel Villa Aaria

Which do you recommend and why?

This depends on your interests. If you're an outdoor/natural beauty couple then Sorrento would be perfect. If you're in to museums, churches, art, ... then the others all have a lot to offer. For food, it doesn't really matter - there's great food anywhere you go here in Italy. Venice is generally a more expensive destination.

If you're going toward the second half of April, Sorrento would be great. It's very scenic and you can use it as a base to see other parts of the Amalfi Coast, Capri, and Pompeii. It's a very popular area for weddings and honeymoons.

Venice is also an option in April. The weather is nice and it's not so crowded. However, it's pretty small and after you've been there for a few days, you seen everything there is to see. Fortunately, it's easy to use the trains to get to Padova, Ferrara, Verona, and Garda Lake. Either one could be okay in March, but the weather could be cooler and they're both outdoor places.

Rome is always a great place to visit. There's enough to see and do to keep you occupied for your whole stay, but there are also options for day trips to interesting places like Tivoli or Orvieto. Certainly Rome has more variety of things to see and do. If you're there over Easter, Rome will be packed.

Florence is smaller, but there is a huge amount of great art and architecture. It is also a good base for seeing some of the rest of Tuscany. Siena is a good day trip using the train or bus. Other possibilities include the Chianti wine country, San Gimignano, Pisa and Lucca (you can do both in one day), and Arezzo. Florence is a good destination for Easter Sunday. The Explosion of the Cart in front of the Duomo is worth seeing.

I spend more time in Venice and Florence because I live nearby, but I enjoy going to Rome and particularly like the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento when the weather is good. Personally, I would recommend Sorrento in late April or Florence otherwise.

First: Italy as you can see is very long so people and cities change from north to south and so the weather.
Venice is beautiful, incredible but is a art city, that means it is romantic but there's not a lot to do. And also it's a dead city because there are few people really from Venice, but it's full of tourists!! And that's a pity. In the evening you can see Venice, when there are no more tourists, and no more students (yes because there are universities). It's a safe city.
Florence is full of people: immigrants, students, and it's beautiful, and if you look around is safe. I went to Florence once and it's romantic and there are a lot of monuments. Famous actors from florence are Ceccherini,Pieraccioni,Benigni.
Rome is Rome! Beautiful, romantic, but full of people so..be careful...a lot of things happen there.
I went to Sorrento once...it was beautiful, exotic respect to north, but...when i went there i was in a hotel with my class, we where away, and when we went back to the hotel some clothes where disappeared from the rooms..shirts, jeans...it was a shock. And you also have to be careful where you go because there are sorts of quarters where some people could stole you, and some places where it seems to be in Hollywood, with beautiful people and incredible nature and the sea.
How about Verona? I like it!

venice!!! such a romantic place, i just love it & can't wait to go back! there are water buses to get around, much cheaper than a water taxi. choose restaurants further away from st. mark's and the rialto bridge, they'll be quite a bit less expensive. i've heard saint mark's square is often flooded in the fall. you didn't mention when you'll be going.

i'm sure all of the locations are wonderful, look around at travel websites (tripadvisor, lonelyplanet, virtualtourist) and read reviews written by people who have been there and see what you think looks the best!

congratulations on your upcoming wedding and have a lovely trip!

I would recommend going to venice, why because to me it is one of the most romantic places to go and it's perfect because you will be on your honeymoon. I will be getting married next may and we will most likely go to venice too.

I'm italia and I would recommend going to Venice, because to me it is a romantic place. I also recommend you Rome because in the spring it's filled with flowers

my mum and dad stayed at the venice hotel for there 2nd anniversary and they said it made there relationship stronger, its a Beautiful and calm place says my mum :)

Florence or Sorrento! Sorrento because it's less touristy and not overcrowded. Florence because of the museums. If you want to experience real life among the Italians......Sorrento! But the most romantic place on earth is the Cinque Terre's in Italy. 5 wonderful villages along the Mediterranean. They cannot be beat! Italy is an excellent choice for romance!

Apart from Sorrento which i have not been to but have heard it is very lovely, these are my opinions on the places you have selected.

Venice is so different from any other city, but it is small and i personally didn't find THAt much to do apart from san marcos square, a few churches and a couple of markets there is not a huge amount of things compared to othe cities. BUT as I said its unique and the canals are nice. I went in April and it rained and was overcast ( EXCEPT the morning i left when it was stunning and is my lasting impression...however I know that it rains a lot there...we had a fantastic thunderstorm one night)

Rome....I thought was nice and had a few things to do. I would recommend doing some research as I didn't and did not appreciate things...eg Trevi fountain ...i literally stumbled upon it and tohught..oh there are a few people here...wonder why...took a couple of photos and left......sad....very sad. Again i went in april and again it rained. I did a day tour from rome to pompeii which i can highly recommend.

Florence has some stunning buildings and renaissance things eg "david"...BUT there were sooooooo many people there I literally could not walk on the pathways. I escaped to a nearby town one day ( Lucca, which is really lovely) to get away from the people. I found it a lovely city..albeit bursting with people. Its close to Pisa as well and its worth it to see that too and its close to the Tuscan countryside..also worth it.

Sorrento is the best in summer. It's a beach place for the hottest months. Rome is amazingly beautiful but it's the capital, so very busy and fast. Florence and Venice are nice places to go for honeymoon, rich in arts and nice places. I think Venice is more romantic for the canals and the gondolas.
