General Tipping rules in rome?

We joined a package tour which requires us to give a tip of 3-4 Euros to the driver and another 3-4 Euros for the travel guide. DO you think it's too much?

It depends on what the tour is, but that doesn't sound unreasonable to me. I would typcally give them each at least 5 euro for a half day or day trip if the tour were good.

No, Rollo is wrong...We appreciate very much tip because it's a way to say "I like the way you work, well done". But it's something you do only if you want, never feel like you have to! 3, 4 euro is not too much as tip even if it depends on how many you were, a tip of 3,4 euro for a group of 50 is very few, but if you are a family is ok.

Rollo
In general DON'T

Tipping is not only inadvisable throughout Europe generally but particularly in Italy can either be seen as insensitive or otherwise make you look silly.

Keri
A tip for a tour is reasonable, three euros should be quite fine. However, when out dining do not feel obligated to leave a tip. It's not customary in Italy to do so and if a tip isn't left, it won't be given a second thought.
