Getting from Como to Milan city centre?

Im going to Como on 26th December 08 and will be spending most of the time there around the lakes. I would like to go to Milan for one day of exploring. Are there trains from Como to Milan and if so which station would that be leaving from??

In addition to the Ferrovia Nord trains from the Como Camerlata or Como Lago station to the Cadorna station in Milan http://www.lenord.it/website/lenord/it/orari_e_news/content.php, the Italian train system runs between the Como San Giovanni station and Milano Centrale station: http://www.trenitalia.com/cms/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=ad1ce14114bc9110VgnVCM10000080a3e90aRCRD

If you take the Ferrovia Nord trains, there are some that are direct and some require a change in Saronno. This is convenient if you're trying to get to the area around the Duomo or to see the Last Supper.

Hi!
You can take the train from Como to Milan Cadorna station, you will take around 1 hour to reach Milan.
Then you will have to take the subway (RED Line) from Cadorna station to Duomo Station, you will take around 5/10 min.
Duomo station is in the city centre of Milan.

Trains leave Como S Giovanni to Milano Centrale just about every half hour. The price is about 3.5 euro for 2nd class. The trains take between 33 and 45 minutes. I believe this convenience in price and timing is new for 2008. I've added a link to one of the train times, but you can get more info at raileurope.com.

hi, i'm italian
yes, tehere are many trains between como and milano
it tooks about one hour by train
on this link you can check the timetable:
http://orario.trenitalia.com/b2c/TimeTable

the train is going to stop in milano at the CADORNA station, wich is right in the center of the city

from the station, you should get the subway ("metro" in italian) to go to the city center
one ticket costs 1 euro
you should take the RED LINE until duomo or sanbabila stops

yes, there are trains from como center to milano center...
i live in milan and i took the train from milano-cadorna station, it took about 30mins, and i stepped out in como, right near the lake! i guess that the stop is called "como-lake!".
don't worry anyway! you can always get to the station and ask for it!
if i remeber good the ticket costs only 7 euros more or less...

if you need some information more, just mail me!
