Sightseeing in Italy would not be complete without a visit to the picturesque city of Florence. One of Europe's cultural and historic landmarks, Florence has been an important center of development since medieval times.Visit the Uffizi Gallery, stroll the Piazza Signoria, spend the afternoon tasting Italy's finest wines, and enjoy a traditional Tuscan style dinner. If you like COOKING COURSE WITH DINNER
(Was so great.:-) )
During this course I learn how to cook a classic Tuscan meal. In a top notch cooking school participants will be able to make a four-course meal (starter, first course, second course and dessert) under the expert guidance of a multilingual chef.
The course will be followed by a dinner of the dishes you have prepared, accompanied by a good Tuscan wine and a fun and friendly atmosphere
TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:
Cooking Lesson From Skilled Chef
Traditional Kitchen Atmosphere
Dinner & Wine
4.5 HOURS
This looks as though it may help:

Another visit spot is Toscana Saporita Cooking School ( Lucca )
You get so much more than they tell you.
The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The lessons are all hands on and the meals are more than you can eat for sure.Sandra the owner is always there with her chefs and has a wealth of knowledge for not only cooking but Italian culture enhancing all lessons. Excursions to local villages each afternoon. Well worth the money.

Parco Sculpture Del Chianti ( Siena )
This beautiful sculpture park in the middle of one of most beautiful areas on earth was a wonderful escape from other crowded tourist areas in Italy. The walk is lovely and we enjoyed seeing all of the fabulous sculptures.

Azienda Agricola Poggioantinora Gaiole in Chianti ( Siena )
'Poggioantinora' is dated 1234 and it is grew in the years with the family Brandani.Following the tour, we tasted their new style Tuscan Red, a new style Chianti, a classic style Chianti, a dessert Chianti, and a delicious olive oil.Wine and food was great, and the price was very reasonable. This is a great thing to do in Tuscany

You're asking what to do on your honeymoon? OK Then...
In Florence:
. Uffizi
. Ponte Vechio
. Galleria Della Academia (David)
. Santa Croce
. Piazzale Michelangelo
The restaurant I like there is call The Porcupine (Il Porcospino) It is right by the Basilica San Lorenzo.
There are some really cool towns in Tuscany to visit. My favorite is Siena. Others include San Gimignano, Lucca (Lucca and a visit to the tower at Pisa makes for a good day of sight seeing), Assisi and Orvieto.
Florence is famous for its leather stores. |

For the Chianti countryside around Florence, you might consider a bike tour which includes wine and olive oil tasting: http://www.tuscany-biketours.com/ or there's the wine train to Montalcino: http://selectitaly.com/food.php?product_id=71
There is the Palio del Papero in Balconevisi which is near San Miniato. This is a contest between the four neighborhoods of the town which takes the form of a duck race. In addition there's a medieval parade and food booths with local foods. It's held on one of the first two weekends of October and could be going on while you're here. You might also want to check this site for local festivals in Tuscany nearer to when you'll be here: http://www.sagreinitalia.it/sagre-in-toscana.asp
It's also pretty easy to visit places like Pisa (go in the morning to see tyhe tower, then hop back on the train to Lucca for the rest of the day), Siena, San Gimignano, or Arezzo. Train schedules are here, but won't be available this far in advance: http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/cms/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=3fdbe14114bc9110VgnVCM10000080a3e90aRCRD . For San Gimignano, take the train to Poggibonsi. You can buy a ticket for the bus the rest of the way in the bar at the end of the station. |
