I went to Puglia last Sept and saw and did a lot for not a lot of money. Very scenic and interesting. Do an online search for either Puglia, Alberobello, Lecce, Taranto, etc. and see what you get. about a month after the trip I saw an article in Town & Country mag called "Italy kicks up its heel" -- meaning Puglia, how it's becoming the place to go -- not why I went (family there).
