Well... Venice is unique, is beautiful, is spectacular, so I'd suggest you to visit it, if you have time...
BUT. Venice is crowded with tourist, non only in summer, and it's INCREDIBLY expensive. For a cup of coffee in Piazza San Marco you can spend 10 or 15 euros (!!), and hotels aren't less pricey.
You should visit Venice, but I'd suggest you to search an hotel far from the city center. Possibly, not even in Venice.
And there are lots of other places in Italy that are less famous, (and less crowded), and equally beautiful.
So, visit Venice, but don't fossilize with Venice ;)

Heyyyy I'm italian!! I live in Milano the best city ! Venice (Venezia) is great..and so cool...go there and enjoy it! kiss

Girl of the Alps
Venice is worth a visit ANY time of the year, and May (likewise September) is a perfect month (you could avoid the summer crowd).
Venice should be in everybody's "things to do once in a lifetime" list!

Why? Because Venice is unique, Venice is spectacular, Venice is...Venice. You will fall in love with the city, I promise!

If it's your first time, don't miss the usual: Rialto Bridge and St. Mark Square. Bring a pair of comfortable shoes and walk as much as you can.
If you have time go and visit one of the islands, Burano's the best!

Hi I'm Italian. Yes you should definitely go to Venice. I think may is the best moment to go there because it's not cold and (if you're lucky) there's no rain. Yeah go there, and have fun!

UK Dad
Great place. Gets very crowded with tourists.
Visit soon before it sinks!

Yes! Venice is a very beautiful and particular place! I'm italian..

Can`t miss Venice!!! Go there and you will not regret it. It`s expensive around the tourist areas, but go in the Calle around piazza san marco, it`s beautifull and always remember you can bargain prices, alwyas ask for discunts. May is beautiful months to visit, maybe some rain, but it`s still the wonderful venice you seen on TV, and romantic and lots to walk. Lots of tourist, go you will love it!!

Of course! It is the only city in the entire World that is just on water! Besides the fact that it is so unique, it is also beautiful. This is a place that I think that everyone should see at least once in their life!

We were there at the end of June - if you like your weather hot that is a good time and place to be.
Venice is just one of those 1,000 places you must see before you die. Ideal if you are a keen photographer - it is a unique and historic City, the people were so friendly. You will kick yourself forever if you are in the region and don't visit because the opportunity may not come again.

No, Venetians are sore about tourists and rightly so; the delicate fabric of the city is being eroded by the too numerous tourists who take over the cfity

milan is better ;)
