Going to Northern Italy for our Honeymoon in September for 9 days? |
We are flying in and out of Milan and two days dedicated to travelling, so it is more like 7 full days. We want to know how to plan out itinerary. This is what we are thinking: First night in Lake Como, 1 night in Verona, 2 nights in Venice, 1 night in Florence, 2 nights in Cinque Terre, last night in Milan. Is this do-able or too much running around? We are also thinking of renting a car and driving the whole week, with exception of Venice. Any other suggestions?? Thanks |

You don't need to stay overnight in Cinque Terre. I would stay two or three nights in Florence (it's my favorite city in the world) where there is so much to do and see. Take the train to Cinque Terre (better than driving!) and spend the day hiking around the beaches. From Florence you can easily visit Pisa and Sienna as well. Plan to spend a good amount of time in Florence; it's very touristy but the sites and the museums as so wonderful! Driving from city to city isn't a bad idea, just be prepared to have trouble with parking. I would suggest driving into a city, parking, and taking local transportation (buses, taxis) simply because it is easier. If you are not familiar with the towns or Italian drivers, driving through the cities can be a scary experience!
I think you are going to have a wonderful time! Just remember, it's your honeymoon so relax and enjoy yourself! |
