Stardust

Going to Rome tomorrow, and need a wardrobe/weather check...?

I'm bringing sleeveless or spaghetii strapped tops and dresses (and suncream!) and short and midlength light skirts, open toed shoes and an umbrella in case of rain.

Should I bring a light jumper/cardigan too? I'm assuming I wont need a coat?

I've got a cap-sleeved thing for modesty in churches and restaurants, but its not very warm.

Also, is it windy there at the moment?

I might swap my short skirt for a long one if I think its endangered of blowing up, a la Marilyn Monroe!

I just came back from Rome, and it was hot. I even got sunburn. It was around 30degrees. I wore summer dresses and flip flops but kept a thin cardigan in my bag in case it got chilly but I only used it when I went into the Vatican.

At night I wore a jacket. At around 1am, 2 am, etc I needed to wear it as it felt a little cold, but it was middle of the night.

I came back with a nice tan, and was only there for a couple of days. Loved it!! Enjoy!

Just got back, too. Take something for everything. It rained hard off and on, enough to soak you. It was somewhat warm and sunny several days but not unbearably hot . It was cool at night, low 50's.

it is warming up here... and humidity will get you.
keep it SMART and casual... jeans and a nice shirt... sneakers.will be a necessary of all the walking you will be doing.
entering the vatican... THERE IS A DRESS CODE. shoulders will need to be covered.. and try to wear pants... as this is a place of worship.

keep your bag infront of you at all times..

enjoy Rome ... its my fav city

Bring comfortable clothes as well.. like jeans & tee shirt! I wouldn't bring a jacket but would bring a jumper you can carry around in case it gets chilly. If you are in Rome, you will be walking a lot.... comfortable shoes are a must!!! Also, I ruined a pair of really cute shoes last time I went because there were lots of pigeons & I had to walk through bunch of their messed & didn't feel that it was sanitary to bring them back. Have fun!!!
