Does anyone know of any cheap apartments in the centre of Rome? |
It's for two people and I'm mostly interested in a central location (walking distance to all of the major attractions) for under £500 for a week.
Thanks.... |

We have been on several Gondola rides and can advise this.
If a Gondolier comes up to you he will say a price. Say No too much. He will come back with a lower price. You can carry on saying No until he comes down to about half of the original price quoted.
Also Best not to get one from the Harbour on Grand Canal, go around one of the side "streets". The ones you get on the Grand Canal take you around the side streets !
They just cost more because you board them on the Grand Canal. Enjoy Venice ! |

They charge by person. So beware because whatever price they give it's going to be per person not the total. There is a tour website
www.viator.com
you can book the org. venice walking tour and gondola ride for like $63.00 I think, that's the way I did it. |

It depends where abouts you get one from, if you get one down in the main harbour and off the grand canal it will be more expensive approx £100, but you can pick them up down some of the quieter alleys for a lot cheaper. |

This is my 3rd year living in Aviano, Italy (40 minutes south of Venice) and for a Gondola ride you cannot go by whatever some website gives you. The Gondola is a business for itslelf , usually to one man, however, in Venice there is one "company" like spot where there are many Gondola's lined up to take anyone. These are about 100 euro or roughly 150$ per person. If you walk within the cities among the narrow streets you will find many tradiational Italians that are nice and run their own systems. They normally charge 100 euro but you can get them down to about 70-80 euro per person. Definately worth it. Hope you enjoy your trip! |

they'll start around 200 Euros for a couple and then when you walk away they will come down in price to about 100 or so. |
