Going to italy in January for 15 days. Should we plan entire trip in Italy,or try to visit another counrty?

Have never been to Italy and really want to see the country from Rome to Venice. Total 15 days in country. Should we reduce our days in Italy and try to see another country, or just see more of Italy? Also, is 4 nights or 5 nights better in Rome?

I urge you to spend as much time as possible in Rome - 5 nights would be minimum: Colosseum, Pantheon, Forum, Vatican, Vatican museums, Spanish Steps, Victor Emmanuel monument, Santa Maria Maggiore, Via del Corso, Time Elevator, Villa Borghese and heaps more.

In Venice and Florence there is a lot to see but 3 nights in each would give you a good taste. In Pisa, for example, there is not much of international reputation other than the Leaning Tower and the Baptistery. Ravenna has beautiful mosaics. Ferrari museum is in Maranello near Modena. One night in these other places would be OK.

Seriously consider going to Pompeii and Vesuvius.

Buon viaggio

Not too bad. Start in Venice, travel west to Verona, Milan, down to Bologna, Florence, and Rome. Take tours out of Rome to Capri, Sorrento, Pompeii (Vesuvius).

i would suggest staying in italy as much as you can. the food is amazing, the sights are unbeatable, and the history is immense. but if you want to relax some more a common extension on italy trips is a tour of the greek isles, which is amazing. i took a cruise(4day) of the isles and it was just amazing. if thats more your speed i suggest looking into it because it was just beautiful

i suggest going to other countries. but there is also a lot to do in italy, for instance, it can take up to a week to do things you want to do in Rome and Florence. if you want some cultural differences, go to other countries. but stay most of your time here in italy.
