I recommend you B&B "Alle Rondini" which is really nice
If you want you can visit the website (www.allerondinivenezia.it ) but it is in Italian.
However they told me it will be soon translated in English.
You can send an email (info@allerondinivenezia.it)
to the owners if you want informations in english. |

My friend & I stayed at Locanda del ghetto. It's located in the jewish ghetto of venice. Our room overlooked a piazza. There is a jewish museum close by. The breakfast is not too bad either. (Cereal, coffee, rolls, juice, milk) It's a short walk from the train station and the water bus. It's also a short walk from a cute restaurant called gam gam where you eat isreali food while you sit outside and watch the water. |

In May, we stayed at the Palazzo la Scala, on the Calle de le Scale. It wasn't cheap (we were there during the high season), but it was pretty wonderful -- clean, quiet, tasty breakfasts, comfy bed, super-friendly bi-lingual staff, GREAT location -- and I highly recommend it -- just don't let them give you the room next to the breakfast room or the kitchen on the first floor!
The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Rialto vaporetto stop (lines 1 and 82 from the train or bus station) and a 10-minute walk to the Piazza San Marco. |

We loved the Hotel Abbazia. It is just a block from the train station and also close to the bus stops. The employees there spoke great English and there was a very good free breakfast. Here are my pictures from the Abbazia:
