HELP! I recently moved to Milan, Italy from Florida (at the beach) and my skin went from being PERFECT...?

to HORRIBLE! I was told it's because the water here has bacteria from dead roaches (the city is built on a lot of canals...) and I started using evian instead of tap to wash my face... also, i know it could be pollution, but i've lived in a city before and NOTHING has been like this.. & it's not stress. i'm VERY happy.. andddd I haven't changed my eating habits- i eat very healthy.

If I were to guess it would be lack of direct sunlight. A question is have you lived away from the beach (a sunny place) for any length of time before and your skin was fine?

I live up north and my complexion improves when I spend a week some place sunny.

Living bacteria should be killed by the municipality. Milan gets it's water only from wells (ground water) and as such tends to be contaminated by local industry. So it is more likely that you are being exposed to a different chemical than in Florida. Better than Evian would be distilled water that should be cheaper or an in-tap filter for your home would be more convenient.

A dermatologist will be able to help with treatment, but unless this is a common problem he won't know how to change your environment.

A third possibility is you. If you are a teenager, pre-menopausal, pregnant, etc. can affect your complexion.

Hi,
If i were you i wouldn't worry too much as sometimes it's just a matter of time before your skin get used to the new climate.
Milan is very polluted so I suggest you buying a good skin cleanser, there are very good and I'm afraid bit pricey products on market.
Eating habits shouldn't affect your skin.
If this problem continues you'd better see a dermatologist.
Good luck!!!
Ps: don't fritter away you money buying evian to wash your face =)

I suggest you visit a dermatologist. Maybe it'll just take some time for your skin to get used to the different environment.
