A lot of hostels in Italy are more like Bed and Breakfasts. I stayed in one in Rome and one in Venice. Don't disregard them completely just because they advertise as a hostel.
Try www.hostelworld.com and look for the nice ones with your own bathroom (ensuite). I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. |

Scoobit.com is to me the best website for hotels in Italy. You can book on line and there are no booking fees. Just go to http://www.scoobit.com and fill the form with city name.
