Has anybody stayed in Lucca, Tuscany, Italy?

What is there to do and are there any nice apartments for five people to stay in?

Lucca is really small but beautiful. You can do wine tasting, take countryside walks, and even do the Life is Beautiful tour. Try taking side trips to Siena and San Gimignano as well.

To find an apartment there, try craigslist.com for Italy or www.viviun.com/Rentals/Italy/Apartments/

Lucca is a beautiful city. I am an American living in Viareggio, just over the mountains. Viareggio is a great location for a vacation because it is so close to many things- there is a very popular beach here, Lucca is only a 15 min drive or train ride away, you can easily reach Pisa, Florence, Rome, Siena, Cinqueterra (beautiful!)

I live in an apartment at Villa Cenami. We actually rent other apartments for vacations. Check out our website: www.cenami.it

Let me know if you have any other questions about the area, I'd be happy to help!

i live there!!!!!

ok so..it's kind of small, but you can go in the city center which is very picturesque:the streets are narrow and there a lot of tipique stores where you can buy cheese or postcards or things like that.
you can also have a nice walk on the "mura"(very famous in all italy,it's like an hill fort really nice, with grass and trees..)
you can rent bikes or vespa
you can do wine tasting
you can eat in beautiful restaurants

yes..i'm sure there are nice apartments..maybe not exactly in the center of lucca, but near there anyway

(sorry for the spelling and all, but,as i said, i'm from lucca)
