Has anyone been to Lake Garda? Or better still Limone?

What did you think? When did you go? Is there plenty to do? If there a golf course?

Yes I've been I'm italian and I live near Garda Lake....good choice I find it an amazing place both for young people (there are a lot of discos, pubs) and family with children.
And yes you can play golf as you can see on this web site http://www.lagodigarda.it/index.php?lang=en (on the top of the page click on activities - sport)
You will find sunny and warmy-hot from now till september.
Take a look at this web site about Limone sul Garda http://www.limone.com/ (in english)
I give you some tips: if you can when you will be there go to visit Verona (beautiful city) and the other villages along garda cost (Sirmione, Desenzano, Torri del Benaco, Bardolino)

I went as a teenager in the late seventies-early eighties. Probably has changed a lot.
With a car you are within daytrip reach of Venice.
Desenzano used to have a brilliant campsite and a weekly market. Sirmione has an old style castle. All very picturesque.
Limone can't tell you much of. I was big in those days and full of older Germans. Probably why my parents never went there.
Do a google on golfcourses. Not got the time for that now.

am just back from Lake Garda this week. beautiful place to visit. I stayed in Malcesine, wasn't any night life, more a sitting in cafes, people watching culture. for a good chill out its excellent. didn't venture around the lake so can't comment on other towns. If you decide to go up Monte baldo be prepared, a good pair of shoes, and maybe an ambulance crew flagging your side would be useful. I wanted a nice relaxed week and that's what i got, would recommend it for anybody wanting the same. The locals are friendly, the food is good, the wine is CHEAP. *****
