Yes I have been to Italy many times. It is the most amazing place I have ever been in the world and thats not just because I am Italian. It is well worth any amount of money to go. The sites are beautiful, the people are even more beautiful, and the food, Dio Mio the food is to die for. I would say GO. Have fun.

Been there, done that. It doesn't matter where you go in Italy, it's all fantastic. But, Rome, Florence, Venice, Piza, Naples, Sienna,......it's all great. YOU WILL LOVE ALL OF IT.

person.
I've been to Rome, Positano, Sorrento, and Florence. They were all beautiful. Positano and Sorrento were so quaint and lovely, Rome seemed to contain the essence of humanity itself, and in Florence you feel like you're surrounded by everything in the world that is beautiful.

It's definitely worth it.

I have been to Italy many times and I love it :):)

Sorrento and capri are beautiful and pompeii is also near, that was amazing to see.

Rome is lovely too and I also really liked Naples strangly enough :)

I love the food, people, scenery and heat!

I was in the Military Stationed in Naples for three years. Visited Rome several times, took motorcycle tour of the entire country. Got Married, saw first son born in Naples. Loved it. I wish I could go back.

Sorrento is amazing!(If you have a bit of cash to spare) You can book excursions to capri and drive down the Almalfi coast. The Sorrento Hilton is nice in the summer because of the pools and views, but if you are going for a winter break try and find a cosy b&b in the center.

I went to Italy and I know people who have lived there for years. I see lots of beautiful pictures. With my own experience, I really like it. The only thing I didn't like was the cold. The part of Italy that I went to was Sicily. Beautiful! Food is great!

I've been to Italy 4 times. My grandmother comes from a little village an hour south of Milan. It' called Rivanazano. I've visited:
-Pisa (and the tower)
-Florence (shopping is great! and the Uffizi museum)
-Rome (Colosseum, Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain -absolutely beautiful!)
-Venice (Saint Mark's square)
-Vatican City
-Genoa
-Florence

that's not my name

i went to Venice, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Capri and Naples. I saw Pompeii, the coliseum, Roman forum, went on a gondola ride, and it was so amazing, Even the little side-streets were beautiful... totally worth the money. I loved it. I want to go back.

Audrey

I lived in Naples for three years - military assignment. I strongly recommend seeing the Vatican and Sistine Chapel - preferably with a private guide rather than a tour group. It costs more but is well worth it.

If you go down to Naples, skip Pompeii and see the villa at Oplante instead - it has more of the frescos and other cool things still on site and not stolen, destroyed, or moved to a museum. Less crowded, too. Also, be sure to get some pizza - they invented it there. And mozzarella di buffala - wonderful, wonderful cheese.

Do make the climb to see Vesuvio, just so you can say you did it. Not everyone has been on top of an active volcano, you know.

The best stuff (except Rome, of course) is all up north, so others will have to fill you in there.

The Superior
Yes!! when I was in the 4th grade. I went to venice....and other places.. (can't really remember)
I remember seeing the Sisteen Chapel though....It was beyond stunning.

Yes, it was great. Go to the Venice Beinnale, the greatest art show in the world. It's in July of certain years, check it out. Florence is also a must, and I would personally recommend Sienna. You could also check out the leaning tower of Pisa.
