Miche', Torino is a great city. I thoroughly loved living there despite the crime. I haven't been back since 1999 so I haven't had a chance to see everything they did for the Winter Olympics. It was fun seeing the medal ceremonies on TV and seeing Piazza Castello again. I loved my flat where if I stood out on the balcony and looked left I could see the collina and if I looked right I could see the Alps.

But in the end the best memories I have of Turin are the friends I left behind. I still keep in touch with a few. There were some downsides but those pertained strictly to my career and where I was at that point in life. I am Italian but have always lived abroad (I have lived around the world) so I have always had problems fitting in when I go back home. That was definitely the case when I lived in Turin, but it had nothing in particular to do with i Torinesi or Turin (more an Italian / Anglo-Saxon thing).

Cerea.

Not yet , but plannig to visit the place, curious about that shroud. Have been to various parts of Italy, Venice, Rome, Florence, Sicily, Tuscany area. Love it ,Love it. Prima Bella Italia.

I lived there for just under two years. I really liked living right in the city center and having access to everything. There are GREAT museums and art galleries, good restaurants (cheap and expensive), good transportation connections and it's affordable. The downside is the general sucky-Italian stuff like red tape, racism (I was lucky to be a white female immigrant) and also the climate is a little rough- VERY cold winters and VERY hot summers.

I have never been. I would love to go. I love to travel and would find any old Italian city fascinating because of the history in it.

Shows a lot of cool stuff about this excellent place.

If you have a spare ticket can I come too? Please!

Have a fantastic trip.

My son lived in Italy for a semester abroad and loved Italy...all of it. So, I'm sure you'll love Turin.
