Americans love Italians, Italy and their culture. My ancestors are from Italy. I am 50% Italian. Sicilian and calabrese. Americans will not give you any problems at all. In fact they will probably want to know a lot about you. Boston has a HUGE Italian community. We also have an group NIAF. National Italian American Foundation. You can get scholarships for school if you are Italian in America. In Boston they hold dinners monthly where people get together and talk i Italian. I hope you can come here, but know you will be very home sick.

Ciao, anch'io sono italiana! E anch'io vorrei studiare negli USA!
Comunque, no, non penso proprio che gli statunitensi odino gli italiani, anzi... io ho sempre saputo che apprezzano l'Italia e il suo popolo. |

I spent a little more than three weeks in Italy last year. I loved the art and food and wine and beauty. It was an amazing place to visit. The people there were very friendly, too. I would love to go back.
Americans don't generally have any problems with Italians. A lot of cities have large Italian immigrant populations, too. |

I have been to many countries in my life covering europe, asia and american continent. For sure, the most beautiful country I have ever been to was Italy.
I went there last May with 2 super big lugguages, in the airport, bus station and train stations and whereever I had been to, I was constantly offered helps by local people who came to me voluntarily without me asking. When I asked for direcrtion, they even walked 3 blocks with me to the place where I needed to go.
Not only is Italy so beautiful, but also its people............
Amo L'italia tanto tanto |

I went to Italy in august- september 2001 and I found a beautiful country. Everywhere I went I found nice, kind and helpful people who are proud of their heritage and happy to show it to foreigners. My experience was so fine that I never miss the opportunity of telling other people to visit and discover that wonderful nation and to equally open their arms to italians everywhere who want to discover our countries. |

I love Italy and I love the Italian people!
I lived in Italy for almost 4 years. My husband was stationed in the Military and we were stationed there until earlier this year. Let me tell you, I have never had people make me feel as welcome as the Italian people made me feel while living there. We decided to move off base and rent a house from this wonderful Italian couple.....The best decision we ever made! They were so good to us and our children. They always included us in the holidays and were always checking on us. I also made many Italian friends, all who I miss so, so much!
I can't wait to return to Italy for a visit. I miss it so much! And by the way, your city of Florence is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been to!
Ciao! |

We love Italians. But we do have our prejudices:
