Hi: how long is the train ride from Rome to Naples?
The trip is roughly 2 hours on an Eurostar or ICplus train. If you want to save a little money, take the ICplus train, there are many leaving throughout the day. You can use the Freedom to travel promotion and ride in 1st or 2nd, 1st preferably, for only €15 (regular 1st class fare is €23,21 and 2nd is 17,53 on the ICplus).
At Trenitalia in the drop-down menu, the promotion is - Liberta di viaggiare 15 Euro. If you buy the tickets in Rome, buy them 2-3 days before you leave at Termini station or the American Express office to the right of the Spanish Steps, as you are looking up the steps(the travel desk is closed on the weekend).

By the way, becareful at the Naples Centrale station. There are pickpockets there that feed on tourists like vampires. It is a scam if someone in an uniform walks up to you and offers to help with your luggage - there are no Trenitalia porters. If anyone offers to help give directions they will expect a tip. Be aware of all your belongings. Don't wear a backpack at the station.

I think about 3 hours on a regular train, maybe 2ish hours on a high-speed train (e.g. Eurostar).
