I make a 4-6 week vacation to Italy every year. I have driven throughout the Italian peninsula from the tip of the toe to its northern borders and up and down each coast..

I love Italy and the Italian people. I have found them to be warm and friendly. You may, of course, find that the people in the larger cities a bit abrupt, but that, I submit, is the result of living in a large city. City-dwellers around the world just seem to be a bit more rude, probably from the strain of city life. Romans, for example, are no worse than New Yorkers (and I grew up in New York City).

The Italian countryside is beautiful, especially in Tuscany and farther north in the lakes region. No trip to Italy is complete without a visit to Venice. If you travel farther south to Basilicata, you will find yourself almost stepping back in time. The countryside is a bit more rugged with ancient towns built on the tops of hills.

The food is exquisite. Not the make-believe Italian-American stuff they serve here.

Not a bad country at all....i grew there and do not regret a single moment in there! It is a great place to meet nice people, fashion can be rated 5 stars [ D&G, EA,etc.] . It is a place full of culture and many catholics DO COME to Italy to visit the Pope while he's celebrating the Mass.
What else can I say other than
VIVA ITALIA!

Well, I love Italy and think the world of it, love everything about it, been everywhere there except Venice and that is only because I am terrified of water.
I of course was born and bred there and lived there and was fortunate enough to tour it well.
I can tell you that every place you go has it's own beauty....but the common thing everywhere is kindness and welcome especially to tourists, and for those people that say about ones that steal and such....well you know? these people are even at your back door or have you neglected to look ?....
...as I was saying:
The food is to be appreciated in it's uniquiness in every region, for it is delectable in every way if you appreciate cuisines from all over .
In short, do take the time to visit and you will find it an experience of a lifetime in many ways...it will satisfy your sight, senses and definetely your palate.

I'm slowly starting to dislike them.

They are very intruding, and refuse to remain on their own land. Somehow, they prefer Y!A UK.

Italians love to spread their "wisdom" all over the world but can't stand guests.Bunch if selfish bastards - this is not only what I think of them, this is the truth
