Why not do both? You could either book a coach tour that does, Como, Garda and Maggorie. Alternatively, once you get to say Garda you could also get a day excursion to Como.

lake Garda is the bigges in italy and there are a lot of beautifoul places that there aren't on lake Como. the biggest places on lake Garda are Trento, Brescia e Verona, and the other are
-Riva del Garda
-Arco
-Nago-Torbole
-Malcesine
-Brenzone
-Torri del Benaco
-Garda
-Bardolino
-Lazise
-Castelnuovo del Garda
-Peschiera del Garda
-Sirmione>it's very beautifoul, and there are a castle and "le terme"
-Desenzano del Garda
-Lonato
-Padenghe sul Garda
-Moniga del Garda
-Manerba del Garda
-San Felice del Benaco
-Salò>it's very beautifoul
-Gardone Riviera
-Toscolano-Maderno
-Gargnano
-Tignale
-Tremosine
-Limone sul Garda.
While on lake Como there are only Como and Lecco.
I think lake Garda is more interesting than lake Como, but lake Como are more romantic than lake Garda.
if you want, You can visit both: to lake garda on lake como there are only 2 hours by car.
I prefer lake Garda because I'm from moniga and on lake garda there is also "GARDALAND"
good travel

Lake Garda

I would suggest neither of those two lakes. There are two other lakes that are very special. One in particular is smaller but it is way more beautiful, evocative and downright romantic. The lake I refer to is Lake Orta - a very special place indeed. The other lovely lake is Lake Maggiore.

They are both wonderful, Lago di Garda is my favorite because I live near it and i'm affectionate to it. Lago di Garda is bigger, very beautiful and there are many entarteinments, hotels, tourists services, but it's really full of German people in summer, because Germany is near to it.
If I were you, I'd go to Lago di Garda, anyway

I'd say Lake Garda (such a beautiful place) but Lake Como is not less wonderful.

Come pass by Venice too =P
(sorry had to say that... I think everyone should once in a life)

Ciao!
