I'm Italian. We say:

"Sto chiamando da..." (present continuous) or
"Chiamo da..." (simple present)

We use both tenses to say what you are asking for. If it is for a phone call, we better use the second one.
Example:
Buongiorno. Sono il Sig. White, chiamo da Roma.
