It is 32 km (20 miles) from Fiumicino to the center of Rome. You can get a cab from the airport, but it's chaeper to take the train. The Leonardo Express runs directly from the airport to Roma Termini train station every 30 minutes - it's a 35 minute ride. Depending on which hotel you're in, you can get a cab, take the metro or bus, or walk to your hotel. airport information in English is available at: http://www.adr.it/content.asp?L=3&idmen=199
If you arrive at Ciampino airport (15 km from the center of Rome; approximately 10 miles), there's a bus into town, or a short shuttle ride to the train station, or taxis. Airport information: http://www.adr.it/content.asp?L=3&idmen=200http://www.adr.it/content.asp?L=3&idmen=200
You can use the Getting Here link on the pages for information on how to get to the city. |

Hello,
FCO is about 20 miles or a half hour away from the city center. You can take the train (leonardo express) into town for about 10 euros, a cab for 35 euros or a private car for about 40 euros. All of these options will still take about 30 minutes to get you there. There are pros and cons to all these methods of transportation also. If you don't have a lot of luggage and are on a tight budget, the train is the way to go, but you must watch out for the pickpockets that hang out on it and you must also handle your own luggage both on and off the train. A cab will cost you more but it will take you directly to your hotel. You must be careful to get a cab from the cab rank or risk getting a dishonest driver who will try to charge you two or three times what the fare should be. A private driver is the most expensive option but they will be waiting for you at the airport with a car and take you directly to your hotel. They will also help you with your luggage.
If you are talking about ciampino airport, it is also about a half hour away. The cab fare and private car fare from there are the same as for FCO. |

Like 10 miles from the center of town. If you have luggage, it's best to take a cab. |

Fiumicino probably like 10 miles
take the leonardo express from the airport right to termini from which you can get (almost) anywhere in the center of Rome. |
