High speed trains took 2h 35 minutes between London and Paris, so planes must took less (around 1 hour) but you lost a lot of time in the airports, so the people is choosing the train.
Boats take 1h 45 to cross the Channel, if you use train+boat+train the trip time between London and Paris is around six hours.

I flew from Washington D.C to Charles De Gaul, France and it took eight hours straight through.

My experience is 'a couple of hours' at most.

It takes about 2 1/2 hours with the speed train, but why did you post this question at the Venice section?

I have done this trip many times and here are my comments:

PLANE: You can fly from Paris to London in less than one hour and it is not expensive.

BOAT: I have not done this, but I'm sure it would take more than a couple hours since you have to get to the coast first, get on a boat, travel across the English Channel, then get from the coast there to London.

TRAIN: This is my preferred method - it takes just under two hours, but that is complete from downtown Paris to downtown London. It is a very comfortable train and easy to use.

Hope that helps!

Just curious though: Why is this in the Venice, Italy, category when it has nothing to do with Italy?
