It took me 15 hr 20 min from the time I left Virginia until I landed in Verona last Friday. However, I had a 5 hour layover in Munich along the way. Obviously, the travel time depends on where you start from, how you travel, and the route you take. You can find approximate times from your location by looking up flight schedules on a site like Expedia or train schedules on a site like http://www.bahn.de/p/view/index.shtml if you're starting from somewhere in Europe. If you're driving, the viamichelin route planner can give you approximate times from point to point. http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichelin/int/tpl/hme/MaHomePage.htm

From where? I believe from Greece, you can fly to Rome in an hour.

From Australia, you're talking about 24 hours.

You could do a search of flights. Plug in the CITY you are from and the CITY you would be going to (there are many in Italy, you know) and it will tell you how long the flights are. You can go with the entire trip time including layovers, or just figure out the total air time.
