Admission to attractions: 15 euro / day
Transportation: 4 euro / day (4 metro tickets)
Food: 15 euro / day (3 - 5 euro meals)
That's about 100 euros / day minimum.
I'd plan on 150 euros a day so you don't have to eat like a pauper everyday and an additional 200 euros for a couple of really nice meals.
Depending on how lavish your gift giving is with a little emergency fund I'd take 1100-1500 euros for the week. |

To me 100 dollars are not enough. The entrance in museums and attraction costs around 10 Euro, the child will pay less, somewhere even nothing. If you have a meal with a sandwich or a slice of pizza you can spend 15 euro (total) If you go to restaurant not less than 60 Euro.
In a city like Rome it's easy spending more that we would! |

I would say that it's up to where you are from :if u'r from Australia then considering that the ariplane would cost you about 3000 € you will probably need 4000 €; a bit less if you're from the states....about 3500 €; but if you're from Europe, then it is going to cost you waaaaay less, with ryanair you can get here with less than 100 € per person....
And also up to what kind of hotel you want to go to ..... but i tried to be on an overage-hotel to do my suppositions above :)... |

100 dollars should do for a nice couple of meals and transportation per day for the three of you. Walking is the best in this city however. It can be done much cheaper too, but that is if you don't mind street food or sack lunches. Shopping is another issue only you can determine.
