From London there are inclusive fares to Italy from 119 pounds return.
If you want to explore then an interrail is a good idea.
In Italy trains are quite cheap and there are good sleeping trains too which saves a lot on hotel bills. With the inter rail pass one can also get free travel on the boats to Greece. There are boats every night from Portsmouth to France where train travel is also much cheaper than UK.
Booking an advance ticket to Portsmouth will save on the UK fare.

it might help if you were to say where you were travelling from lol - saying england could mean dover or newcastle, and there is a huge difference!

The exact cost - unknown

France to Italy on a train - cheap reasonable prices

Getting out of the UK by train - extortionate prices

It will cost about 150 euros from London to Milan and 200 euros from London to Rome.

hey, try getting an interrail ticket - then you can travel all over Europe on a train. Although you would have to catch either a plane or train to the continent. It's great, me and a few mates did it last summer...well worth it.

Just type in Interailing into Google. Although, watch out as some of the websites are a bit dodgy.
