How risky is it to travel in Calabria? |
I'm hearing lots of horror stories about travel in Italy generally, Calabria in particular. My wife speaks Italian and understands her local dialect (Curingese), but we've never been to Italy. I'm scared to death! Additional Details Yes...I know the general dialect is Calabrese, but I'm told every locality has its own version. My inlaws come from Curinga, so I call their version "Curingese". |

Yes, we like very much american tourists....it's our favourite summer dish !!!!
I'm sorry but what kind of horro stories about Italy can you ever heard? I don't think that travel in USA could be less dangerous then in Italy.
We don't eat people for a long time and we don't have dangerous illness.
If you talk about gangster, I can tell you that Italy it's not just "pizza, mandolino and mafia" ! |

Hey...don't be scared...!!! First of all forgive me for my English...
I'm Italian and I come from Calabria...It's really sad reading that people are scared to come here. I know that there are many things that really don't work here, but Calabria is a wonderful place...there are so many beautiful things to see, to do and also the people are always glad to have foreing tourist...
I know that with few words I can't change your opinions...so please let me show you some beautiful picture of my beautiful country and if you want some information just contact me maybe I can help you.
PS. Our local dialect is called "Calabrese"!
Bye! |

A bit of advice, dont get too drunk, they're fairly conservative down there and even when I was in Milan I was nervous when walking back to my hostel even in a well lit area as I had a lot to drink. |
