How to get to Murano & Burano Island from mainland Venice?
I will stay at a hotel nearby train station, and wondering if there is any dock or port that I can take a boat to these two islands. If you know, then could you also let me know how much will be the cost?
A vaporetto is a water bus not a water taxi. Water taxis are very expensive. You can get to Murano and Burano from a few of the vaporetti stops. Piazalle Roma does a direct service which I recommend and I believe you can go from St Marks as well. When you get there you will see the vaporetti routes and timetables on all the stops and you can choose to travel to the islands from the most convenient to you at that time. You can purchase tickets in advance from the automated machines or there are some manned booths. Failing this just hop on board and as the conductor for a ticket and pay him.

There is a vaparetto (water taxi) that goes out that way...probably from the San Marco stop, but I'm not sure...if you have a pass (cheapest to get a weekly pass or several day pass) then it should cover you...prices have probably changed since I was last there, but it was affordable...this might help:
im not sure if you will be able to take the boat thats like a bus...you have to get a taxi boat ask your hotel manager to help you find a cheap taxi service...and the murano glass factory is so cool
