from venice any train into verona then from verona almost every train with destination rome, naples, reggio calabria they will all stop in florence...some will stop in firenze santa maria novella(central train station), some trains will stop in firenze rifredi and some others will stop in firenze campo marte, try to avoid the last 2 as they are a little out of the way...also from venice you can go to brescia then from brescia there is a train called pendolino fast really comfortable..of course the cost of the ticket is a little more expensive...finally i'm quite confident that from venice you might be able to find few direct trains...p.s a very important travel tip to you DO NOT FORGET to stamp your ticket in the yellow machines (you will see them everywhere in the train station) before you get onto the train otherwise you could be fined for not doing so. |

Railways in Italy are run by FFSS (Ferrovie dello Stato) so they are run by the government. Do not take (Treni Rapidi) because they incur in supplements and buy a second class ticket. You should not have any problems to go to Switzerland but you will have to decide if you want to go via Austria or via Milan your choice.I am not sure if 20 Euros wil be enough. |

I don't think that's possible. I went to Italy last March and I am pretty sure that it was a lot more than that. All the trains are run by Italy. I heard that you can get a pass as a student that you can travel anywhere in Europe for a certain amount of time for a certain amount. Search student travel? |
