Hey! Join the club! Unfortunately, I'm not there anymore and when I was it was only for a month. I ended up hanging out with people 5-10 years older than me (I'm 17) until the last week of my stay when I figured out all of the hangout spots and met people my age.

Places to go at night: CAMPO DI FIORI. That's where young people hang out (Americans, nonitalians, and Italians). If you want to meet Americans, go to the bar called Drunken Ship. Maybe they'll let you in if you look older. The Drunken Ship is the place where many Americans go to hang out or people who speak english.

If you want to meet people like you, try taking an Italian language class at Scuola Leonardo da Vinci, located in the center of the city. That's what I did when I was there with my parents. Most people will probably be slightly older than you, but they are friendly and the school offers outings that are fun.

Rome is an awesome city! I hope you have an amazing time! If you need some contacts, e-mail me icesk8ter3161@yahoo.com. I have cousins your age who live near Rome and a girl in my Italian class has a sister your age who is going to an American school in ROme (maybe it is the same one).

If you are American I suggest you to go to Campo de' Fiori. Here you can find a famous american pub called DRUNKEN SHIP

you can go to a phone and internet store and find people online or just walk up to someone some people are very ''outgoing'' like that

I don't know personally, but maybe try some social networking sites to find some people like yourself you live near you. If not maybe you can join a club nearby.

It's hard to find people, but keep trying and I'm sure something will crop up eventually.

Try the Trastevere area. In there there also is a *very* small movie theater, was called "Pasquino" up to a little while ago, where they show only movies in English and the (small) crowd includes a lot of young Americans. Could be a good place to start to make friends.
