it depends on what you get, some of it is less expensive but often of poorer quality. You should jot down the prices of the things that you think you want, price them where you shop here and then you will have a better idea of what the real savings is going to be.
We have done this and found that the prices here are as good or better than there. That's why it's really a good idea to know the products beforehand.
You will get better bargains in Spain, Turkey, Hong Kong and Bangkok, a lot of the Asiatic stuff is counterfeit. |

Quality made leather and goods made of leather are expensive everywhere you go.
Spain and Greece make good leather boots but they look rather rustic. The Chinese have sweat shops all around Italy putting together bags and jackets.... but the quality isn't always there. The leather may be good but the assembly of the product is less than perfect.
You want a good leather product then be prepared to pay top dollar.... unless you shop the sales. Oh, buying in US Dollars put you at 30% disadvantage. |

I was just there and I didn't see anything cheaper than here, unless of course it was of bad quality. One thing I can tell you though is that if you are looking for some cheap fake designer bags, the centre of Rome is the place to get them. There are street vendors everywhere selling fake designer bags. Even right in front of the Vatican! haha Do keep in mind that the Euro is very high right now so your trip will be expensive, to say the least. |

Came back from Italy yesterday. Leather goods are not cheap but u get extremely superior quality leather! So, for a great quality product it may be cheap. COuldnt compare apples with apples as in US it is not possible to get that quality leather at all places!
My wife bought a couple of hand bags paying around 50-60 Euros. Also bought a decent leather shoes for 39 Euros that may have cost around the same at US if I had looked enough. (There u get every where) |
